Questions About Hemp

Full-spectrum CBD products contain an array of beneficial cannabinoids (CBD, CBC, CBG, CBN, and more), terpenes, and phytonutrients that occur naturally in hemp. We believe (and research suggests) that these compounds have immense synergy - as opposed to the one-trick pony that is CBD isolate.

Check out our blog to learn more about the difference between full-spectrum CBD vs. isolate.

Oftentimes companies will confuse these two terms, either intentionally for marketing purposes, or unintentionally due to the fact that CBD is a relatively new industry.

Hemp oil (also known as hemp seed oil) is pressed from hemp seeds, resulting in a nutrient rich oil full of essential fatty acids, chlorophyll, and various other nutrients. Many experts agree that hemp seed oil is the ideal carrier oil for CBD - which is why we use it in our full line of premium CBD products.

CBD oil may or not be pressed directly from the stems, stalks, and flowers of the hemp plant. More often than not CBD oil refers to a carrier oil (such as hemp oil) that has a blend of cannabinoids and terpenes (obtained via an extraction process on the hemp) added into it in precision quantities. As such, CBD oil is usually a blend of substances that may or may not contain hemp oil.

Hemp and marijuana are both Cannabis. Cannabis Sativa L. is simply the botanical name for the plant, of which hemp and marijuana are two different types.

Imagine someone asking the difference between Unleaded, Premium Unleaded, and gasoline. This is similar - hemp has a much lower cannabinoid content, and usually little to no THC (legally THC levels must be below .3% to be considered hemp) - and is also has a variety of applications, such as textiles, biofuels, food, rope, clothing, cosmetics, paper, plastics, and building materials.

Marijuana is a slang term that generally refers to high-potency cannabis, most often with a large percentage of THC. CBD products made from marijuana remain federally illegal; Ananda Hemp uses our own hemp to produce the CBD in our products.

CBD can be derived from the stalk, stems, leaves, and flowers of the hemp plant. Ananda Hemp only sources CBD from the flower of our consciously-grown hemp plants.

The term cannabinoid describes any chemical that acts on cannabinoid receptors in the brain and body (endocannabinoid system). There are several different types of cannabinoids, such as endocannabinoids, phytocannabinoids, and synthetic cannabinoids.

Endocannabinoids are cannabinoids that are naturally synthesized in the human body, such as anandamide (the bliss molecule).

Phytocannabinoids are cannabinoids found in plants, such as THC, CBD, and CBG.

Synthetic cannabinoids are man-made chemicals that mimic natural cannabinoids, and are sometimes best avoided for their adverse health effects.

While there is technically no difference between the two, there are significant differences in the end product.

CBD from hemp tends to contain CBD and a handful of other cannabinoids, with a negligible amount of THC.

CBD extracted from marijuana tends to contain a much higher concentration of THC, as THC levels are naturally much higher in marijuana - whereas they are almost non-existent in hemp.

Product Information

Our products contain less than .3% THC (a miniscule amount). However, because of the fat-soluble nature of THC and other cannabinoids, accumulation may reach levels that can be detected on a routine drug test.

There are massive variables in individual genetics, lifestyle, and metabolism that make it impossible to know if you will pass or not. If you are concerned with passing a drug test, we do not recommend using any of our products, or CBD oil in general.

Check out our blog for more information on CBD and drug testing.

We suggest starting with our 300mg formula; this product contains 300mg of active cannabinoids in a 30ml bottle, which is our most modest dosage - yet still contains the full-spectrum of health-promoting phytonutrients that you’ll find in all of Ananda Hemp’s products.

We also offer 600mg and 2000mg for those looking for larger dosages or who generally have a high tolerance/larger build.

Our original 600mg tincture is a Full Spectrum CBD Oil, meaning it contains all the beneficial cannabinoids, terpenes and other phytonutrients that naturally occur in hemp. It contains 600mg of active cannabinoids per bottle, including THC (less than .3%).

We created our Zero-THC Broad Spectrum tincture for those with sensitivities to THC. This blend is identical to the original 600mg formula, except for the 0% THC content.

We recommend our original 600mg tincture (unless you have a sensitivity to THC) as research suggests that small amounts of THC interact synergistically with other plant molecules to elicit superior effects - known colloquially as the 'entourage effect.’

The answer to this question is almost always no.

However, take our strongest product - the 2000mg tincture - for example. Containing 2000mg of total cannabinoids, at .3% THC, and you end up with about 6mg of THC in the entire bottle. 6mg of oral THC is enough to produce a moderate stoning effect in someone with no tolerance - however, you would have to chug the entire bottle at once.

Not only is this expensive, it isn’t realistic. So, unless you plan on consuming the entire bottle at once, there is no chance you will experience a ‘high.’

Yes! As of May 2019, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has updated its policy to allow hemp-derived CBD products on domestic flights.

Meaning, you can fly worry-free with Ananda Hemp CBD products.

This depends on individual biochemistry, metabolism, consistency of dosing, and the severity of symptoms.

Many report improved conditions within 30-45 minutes, whereas others may need up to a week of daily use to experience benefits. It is important to find the dosage that is right for you - we recommend starting with a low dose of 10-15mg, and slowly increasing from there until you reach the desired result.

Be patient with the process, as it may take time to find your ideal dosage

Our products are 100% legal to ship to all 50 states. We ship everywhere internationally (except for Asia) at this time.

The ideal dosage varies wildly from person to person, however, we recommend starting with a low dose of 10-15mg, and slowly increasing from there until you reach the desired result.

Be patient with the process, as it may take time to find your ideal dosage. Check out on blog on CBD dosage for more info.

The amount of time CBD stays in the body varies greatly between individuals, much like THC. Cannabinoids are fat-soluble compounds, meaning that many factors contribute to how long they will be in your body, such as:

- Body fat percentage

- Level of physical activity

- How long you’ve been taking CBD

- How much CBD you’ve been taking

- Diet and hydration

An example of how long you might expect CBD to be in your system is three to seven days for a single usage, and two months or more with extended, frequent use.

Ananda Hemp is proud to be 100% Non-GMO and gluten-free. All of our CBD oils and tinctures are completely vegan, and we use sustainably-sourced gelatin in our softgel formulations.

We specially designed our bottles so as to not have the oil fill the entire dropper. Rest assured that when you gently squeeze and release the rubber end, you are receiving the full dose stated on the package.

Questions About Ananda Hemp

While we are not technically USDA Certified Organic (due to the fledgling U.S. hemp market being amid establishing protocols for such requirements), we are the next best thing.

We are Certified Glyphosate-Free (the chemical in RoundUp), always use organic and conscious growing practices, and never spray harmful pesticides or herbicides on our crops. For added customer protection, we third-party test our products from seed to shelf for heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, residual solvents, and microbials - and publish these Certificates of Analysis alongside each product.

We are proud to say we grow and handle our hemp with positive intent in the USA! Additionally, we are certified with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture. Ananda Hemp is one of the largest producers of domestic hemp, cultivated by eighth-generation Kentucky farmers on over 500 acres of fertile soil.

We do not use imported CBD extract - not only because it is non-compliant with the 2018 Farm Bill, but because we believe it is only marginally useful when compared to a full-spectrum extract. We are also proud to say that we exclusively use the flower to extract 100% of our cannabinoids.
